Five long years since we started this project, and what do we have to show for it? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Looks like misogyny is back on the menu, boys!

For those who are new here, Women Allergy Club exists to raise awareness of womanitis — made-up disease that causes sufferers bouts of anger, despair, and an inability to book a lineup with more than one woman. As you can see from this graph, this issue has only gotten worse over time:

Jungle Syndicate Weekender 2026

Jungle Syndicate have been in the game for over fifteen years, and have taken an accordingly old-fashioned approach to booking women and non-binary artists: who bloody cares? Out of the 78 artists we could identify playing their upcoming weekender, we counted 11 acts who featured at least one woman: a measly 14%.

Having done some quick fag packet maths, we can indeed confirm that this is quite a bit lower than the number of women in the world at large, which experts indicate could be as high as half of all people on earth!

Creamfields North 2022

Long-time Women Allergy Club adversary Creamfields, undeterred by last year’s scathing Instagram post, return in 2022 with effectively the same lineup as last year.

While it’s important to note that this is only the initial teaser lineup and the rest of the bookings have yet to be announced, we believe there’s no smoke without fire, and no Creamfields without 7 out of every 8 artists being men!

Same shit, different year – Women Allergy Club are back, bitches! We thought we’d kick things off with an end of year recap from Manchester’s Joshua Brooks, under new management since the pandemic.

Aforementioned new management have taken to their alphabetti spaghetti to book a wealth of arists for 2021, including LJ, LSB, DLR, and DRS. Brilliant!

Three letters that come to our mind when looking at their bookings are S, I, and X, since six is the number of women they’ve had play in an entire year of running a nightclub (minus six months of lockdown). There’s always 2022, eh guys?

Muzik Events

Tech house, the death rattle of civilised society, has never really been known for being the most inclusive of genres, but even so Muzik Events have really gone above and beyond. By our count, since 2016 they’ve booked three women, meaning that Solardo have played more than every woman combined.

That’s it. That’s the joke. Women Allergy Club are gonna take the rest of the week off and cry into our pillows as a tech house remix of Born Slippy echoes through our minds. Laters!

Made in Leeds fest are trying their very best to draw ire from Women Allergy Club, not just by booking two women to thirteen men, but also by having one of those men be Tom Zanetti.

Hilariously, they’ve also managed to get a sponsorship deal from a vape company that can, no joke, give you 50% off a vape with the code MILF50. Presumaby that comes with flavour cartridges of Lynx Africa and MCAT?

Wireless Festival

Wireless have today announced their 2021 lineup, and fans are not happy. Some aren’t happy because Travis Scott’s not playing, others aren’t happy because they’ve somehow managed to book 5 women to 41 men!

Here at Women Allergy Club, we’re all in support of their shitty lineup. All that we ask is that they change their name to Womanless Festival instead!

That being said, it is genuinely impressive how many men they found considering the number of pop-punk artists having been outed as pedophiles in recent years. Top marks!

WR Fest

In a move widely regarded by industry heads as ‘top sneaky’, WR Fest has decided to hide half of their lineup, presumably to avoid criticism from dance music’s hottest new influencers Women Allergy Club. Unfortunately for them, we’ve seen through their ruse and are calling them out anyway. Shazbat!

One redeeming factor is that if Zomby does his party trick of not showing up to his own gig, that’ll at least help the man / woman ratio on the lineup!

Moovin Barn Party

A lot of the promoters we’ve spoken about on this page seem to be at an absolute loss of where you can find women / gender minority DJs. At Women Allergy Club we love to lend a helping hand to these poor promoters suffering with womanitis.

So here is our Bad Binch Spotlight - where once a week we will post about a collective we consider to be bad binches. The Beatriarchy started in reaction to music groups being very man-heavy and they wanted a space which centres women and gender minorities in music.

Parklife 2021

A recent comment from a promoter highlighed on our page was that, while they would love to book more women, they’re all unavailable due to the exclusivity contracts artists sign with Parklife’s sister organisation, The Warehouse Project. Unfortunately for them, it seems like this argument doesn’t hold much weight as Parklife aren’t booking them either - The Guardian reports that 7 in ten acts on the lineup are men.

None of this should come as a surprise to anyone familiar with dance music’s premier capitalist and Parklife founder Sacha Lord, who previously blocked one of our admins on Instagram for daring to question how exclusivity contracts are in any way good for the scene. There’s always next year, eh Sacha?

Isle of White Wight Festival

Yesterday we received a message on our site from a member of staff at a festival that will remain nameless. In case you haven’t seen it, the message reads as follows:

Dear Sir/Madam,

We have recently been informed through instagram of a number of slanderous posts, in an attempt to smear our organisation. These claims are baseless, as many of the senior roles in our company are occupied by women. Instead of playing the victim card, why dont you try to enact your own change? If the contents pertaining our company, are not immediately removed - we will be forced to take legal action and contact the correct legal authorities.

There may be critics who call disco ‘boring’ or 'samey’, but LDF are showing them who’s boss and keeping to disco’s Black and queer history… by booking nine white men and nobody else. Great work!

In that sense, DnB Brunch are just doing what comes naturally. Unfortunately, what also comes naturally to DnB promoters seems to be trying their very best to not book any women when they could book Uncle Dugs instead.

Creamfields are back for 2021 with a proper trolley problem of a lineup. Pull the lever and a festival with 89 artists only books 6 women, but leave the lever and you miss out on a live set from Scooter.

Fun Fact: Bangface once tried to book Scooter; upon emailing their agent they found out that Scooter’s fee is as much as Bangface’s entire yearly artist budget!

Since the announcement that music events will finally be allowed to continue this summer, it’s come to our attention that there’s been a concerning rise in a new allergy we are calling womanitis. Symptoms include but are not limited to:

Forgetting to add any women / gender minorities to a lineup
Hearing loss specifically when listening to music not made by men
A complete lack of taste

We’ve started this blog to raise awareness of this debilitating condition in the hope that one day we may find a cure.
