Back with a vengeance

Five long years since we started this project, and what do we have to show for it? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Looks like misogyny is back on the menu, boys!

For those who are new here, Women Allergy Club exists to raise awareness of womanitis — made-up disease that causes sufferers bouts of anger, despair, and an inability to book a lineup with more than one woman. As you can see from this graph, this issue has only gotten worse over time:

a fake graph showing misogyny getting really bad!!

As is our sacred duty, we will continue to raise awareness of this issue and fight for the rights of men to book whoever the fuck they want a more inclusive music industry from the ground up!

Women Allergy Club is an anonymous collective of women and non-binary people working as DJs, promoters, booking agents, and other roles in the music industry. We keep our identities hidden to protect ourselves from the fragile egos we write about. Got something to say? Get in touch on Instagram, or on the form at the top of the page.

Raising awareness

Since the announcement that music events will finally be allowed to continue this summer, it’s come to our attention that there’s been a concerning rise in a new allergy we are calling womanitis. Symptoms include but are not limited to:

  • Forgetting to add any women / gender minorities to a lineup
  • Hearing loss specifically when listening to music not made by men
  • A complete lack of taste

We’ve started this blog to raise awareness of this debilitating condition in the hope that one day we may find a cure.
